Celtic HSBK Racing’s three-rider/three-bike team is temporarily down to two riders and two bikes this weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park. While Sam Lochoff is racing his Kawasaki in the Liqui Moly Junior Cup class and Brandon Paasch is competing aboard his Yamaha in Supersport, the team’s Ducati Panigale V4 R is taking the weekend off.
Stock 1000/Superbike Cup rider PJ Jacobsen is still recovering from the injuries he suffered in an incident at Road America 2 and Lorenzo Zanetti, the Ducati Corse test rider who rode for Celtic HSBK Racing in the HONOS Superbike class at Ridge Motorsports Park, had to return to Italy to compete in his own country’s Superbike series. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, he unfortunately wasn’t able to return to the U.S. in time to race at NJMP.
HSBK Racing team owner Bobby Shek said, “PJ is still healing, and he may be ready for Indy (round eight of the HONOS Superbike series on October 9 through 11). Zanetti has to apply for a new special COVID-19 visa each time he leaves the country, and he wasn’t able to get it done it time.”
